How it All Began

This opportunity literally demanded itself. Time after time, when we were working on design only projects, clients- seeing that we were not completely illiterate in our email responses, begged us to help them fill their sites with original, unique content.

At first we tried to outsource this ourselves, but found that either the prices that companies were charging were completely unrealistic (for our budget, anyway), or they were offline copyright specialists who only had experience in writing company brochures, copyright for advertising agencies and a host of other talents that couldn't be applied to our needs. When we ventured into the cheaper, mass market-place, the quality just wasn't there and it was obvious that English was not the first language of the writers and sometimes, to our horror, the content was 100% copied from other websites.

At these early stages, we also thought that the only real value in original content was in that it meant you wouldn't be sued should some angry writer see his work on your site! How wrong were we about that?! (And we don't mean the angry writer part- as that surely still holds true!).

We were still somewhat cynical about there being a genuine niche for writers such as ourselves in this area of website creation, but the demand just kept repeating itself. Comments like:"It's impossible to find unique content anymore!" were all too familiar. Furthermore, it wasn't just the clients who were complaining, but the webmasters as well.

Reading and posting in online discussion groups, again and again we would see the same messages: "Looking for writers to help me out with this project...". It seemed that content delivery of actual word content, from client to web designer, was the most hazardous part of the website creative process- with designers waiting and waiting, and clients becoming more and more frustrated with the whole process.

This is how we started. Small, simple, doubtful and amazed.....and today? Very excited indeed!
